Transactions and Account Protections FAQs

Are Augusta's educators paid commissions to recommend particular metals?

No. Augusta’s educators are salaried and do not receive product-specific commissions. Their job is to explain your potential choices and the actual purchase and same-day buyback prices of the metals you consider. Certain customer-facing personnel may receive a fixed incentive when a trade is completed, but that incentive does not vary with the particular product selected. Education is designed to give you time and information to decide without pressure.

What is the spread, and will Augusta explain it before I buy?

Yes. Augusta explains the purchase price and corresponding same-day buyback bid for each asset before you authorize a metals order. For the same product and quantity at the same time, the difference between those figures is the purchase-to-buyback spread. For example, a $100 purchase price and a $95 buyback bid produce a $5 difference, or 5% of the purchase price. This is not a separate checkout fee and is different from Augusta’s own dealer margin. Augusta wants customers to understand this comparison before purchasing, not discover it only when they call to sell.

Does Augusta target a 5% purchase-to-buyback spread on its precious metals?

Yes. Augusta operates toward an approximately 5% purchase-to-buyback spread target for qualifying structured transactions under its written program. Applicable conditions include eligible partial IRA sales and required minimum distributions, as well as qualifying non-IRA partial sales of metals held for at least five years. Immediate complete liquidations follow different pricing economics. Augusta explains the individual assets’ purchase prices and corresponding same-day buyback comparisons before an initial order. The 5% figure is an operating target, not a guaranteed future bid. For program details and applicability, see Augusta’s Transaction Agreement.

When does Augusta confirm and lock in my purchase price?

Augusta locks your precious-metals purchase price when you complete the recorded Order Desk confirmation call. Before the call is completed, we review the exact assets, quantities, purchase prices, and corresponding same-day buyback values with you. Invoice documentation is handled separately; your personal signature on the invoice is not a condition of the price lock. Any distinct price-protection program is explained according to the purchases it covers.

What return or cancellation protection applies to my precious-metals purchase?

Augusta explains the return and cancellation rights applicable to the specific precious-metals purchase before you confirm it. Certain orders may qualify for Augusta’s seven-day money-back protection, and additional rights can apply under state law. The applicable transaction terms explain eligibility, timing, and how a request is made. Our separate 7-Day Price Protection Program concerns eligible price adjustments and is not the same as cancellation or a refund.

Does Augusta provide seven-day price protection on purchases?

Yes. Augusta offers a 7-Day Price Protection Program on qualifying precious-metals purchases. Before your order is confirmed, the Order Desk explains whether the specific assets qualify and how the applicable adjustment and request process work. This protection concerns eligible price changes; return and cancellation rights are a separate matter governed by their own terms.

How do IRA valuations and buybacks work through Augusta?

Augusta begins with a private review of the exact metals in your IRA and explains their current market characteristics. That valuation is informational, not a completed sale. If you decide to sell and Augusta agrees to repurchase, the Buyback Desk provides live pricing for the specific assets and quantities, confirms the agreed transaction on a recorded call, and completes the required purchase-order documentation. Augusta helps coordinate the independent custodian and depository steps through settlement.

How does Augusta's 24-hour Highest Buyback Price Guarantee work?

Augusta’s Highest Buyback Price Guarantee gives customers with a qualifying confirmed buyback a 24-hour opportunity to request cancellation if they obtain a higher comparable offer from another dealer. The 24-hour period begins with the recorded Augusta buyback-confirmation call. The outside bid must satisfy the written comparison and request conditions. The program helps customers compare actual buyback offers, rather than relying on a dealer’s broad marketing claim. For details and applicability, see Augusta’s Transaction Agreement.

How does Augusta help me compare individual precious-metals assets for IRAs?

Augusta compares IRA-eligible metals by the real economics of the individual asset—not by assuming bars, widely produced coins, or limited-production coins are inherently better. Its educators explain product characteristics, available demand, and how Augusta’s Dealer Network buys back and resells selected products. The Order Desk then reviews the exact purchase price and same-day buyback bid before you choose. This helps retirement savers assess both the intended job of an asset and the market for it.

Does signing Augusta's paperwork or funding an IRA require me to buy precious metals?

No. You can attend Augusta’s education program, sign the general transaction framework, and open or fund a self-directed IRA without agreeing to buy precious metals from Augusta. A particular metals purchase is a separate decision requiring its own order confirmation and supporting purchase documents. Before you authorize an order, Augusta explains the specific assets, quantities, purchase prices, and same-day buyback values. If you place no metals order, you owe Augusta no payment for metals you never purchased.
