Minted by private mints and refineries, silver bullion rounds are commonly sold in 1-oz. sizes. They are minted in varying degrees of fineness, usually 99.9% silver purity. Rounds are not legal tender, and they typically sell for lower premiums than government-issued silver bullion coins.
Silver rounds come in many designs, often depicting famous people, special occasions or religious themes, or replicating historic coins. Most designs include the silver’s weight, fineness and the issuing mint.
Private mints, such as Wall Street Mint and Sunshine Minting, issue silver bullion rounds.
