Overview

Produced by the Austrian Mint since 1989, the Vienna Philharmonic (Wiener Philharmoniker) is one of the world’s most-popular silver bullion coins.

Design

The obverse (front) shows four violins and a Vienna horn, cello, bassoon and harp beneath the orchestra name (in German), “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.” The reverse shows the great organ in the Vienna’s Golden Concert Hall (Musikverein), home of the Philharmonic Orchestra. Beneath are the weight, “Feidsilber” (“silver” in Germant), date of issue and face value in Euros. Above the organ is the official name of Austria, “REPUBLIK OSTERREICH.”

Minting

Silver Vienna Philharmonics are minted at the Austrian National Bank’s Austrian Mint AG.

Quality Guarantee

Austrian Mint AG guarantees the Philharmonic’s weight and purity and backs its monetary face value in Euros.
